On My Nightstand - Sacred Sabbath by Marja Meijers

My blogging friend, Marja Meijers, is writing a series on The Ten Commandments. Since I've been reading her blog for a couple of years now, I knew this would not be a legalistic type book. She always brings a New Testament viewpoint to Old Testament truth.

I can depend on Marja to challenge my thinking. Sacred Sabbath is not a book you zip through in a day, but one to savor and enjoy. She makes some interesting points on time management that apply to everyone in this frenetic, plugged in society. Taking a day to pursue God's interests instead of our own actually multiplies what we accomplish in the other 6 days.

I hope you'll take a few minutes to visit Marja's blog and pick up a copy of her book.

Writers and Readers: Have you ever wondered if you're too busy? How do you cut back when there's so much to do?

I will check out Maria's blog!

I've felt overwhelmed and too busy lately. I've taken a blog break and limited my online time. Amazing how much more I've been getting done.

Hi Loree -

Since I signed my contract with Helping Hands Press, I've been on the Internet almost non-stop. I love it, but it is challenging.

Enjoy your blog break. You might want to stop by here on Monday and enter the Blog Tour contest. :)

Blessings,
Susan

Susan, thank you for mentioning this book (my first) on your blog. I was really surprised to see it pop up!

Guess what, I recently started reading it again, because I felt so busy and sometimes even overwhelmed with all the work I am doing. It really spoke to me again :)

Blessings, have a great weekend, and soooo looking forward to your book promotion blog tour!

Hi Marja -

Thanks for stopping by to comment. I meant to email you, but time got away from me, which totally illustrates your point. LOL!

Blessings,
Susan :)

I can't let anything pile up or I get anxious. So I break up my day into manageable bits: write, break, teach, break, write, go to rehearsal, etc.

This book sounds intriguing, Susan, thank you for mentioning it. I follow Marja's blog and leave comments on her posts periodically. I appreciate learning more about her works.

Hi Dena - I don't like getting behind either. To-do lists help me keep somewhat organized.

Hi Janette - Yes, Marja's blog is excellent. Lot of food for thought.

I confess I've been AWOL on a lot of blogs lately. Launching a book is wonderful but incredibly time consuming. I'll be back!

Blessings,
Susan :)
