I do want kids to read, as much as they can. Whenever we have a kids birthday to go to, we will by them a book. No other presents, that's a rule in our household :)

Hi Marja -

Kids get so many toys that a book stands out. I've seen a little one leave piles of presents to leaf through a colorful book.

Blessings,
Susan :)

I'm not sure what we did, but it must have been something right as multi-generations of our family are all book lovers. Our granddaughter had collected stacks of books for her firstborn before he even arrived!

Starting our children out with books as soon as they were able to sit on our laps and hold one was probably one of the best things we did.

Hi Karen - Yes, I thought everyone would appreciate her wisdom on this subject.

Hi Carol - Some of my earliest memories are Little Golden Books, especially Nurse Nancy. :)

Blessings,
Susan
