Friday Round-Up - #200

Are you looking for some advice on how to produce a great novel? I located an article by Larry Brooks, of Storyfix, on the secret weapon of storytelling.

Writers: What did you think of his "secret weapon."

Readers: Did you relate to his method? What makes a story a "wow experience" for you?

In case you didn't notice, this is Friday Round-Up #200! Have a blessed weekend!

"Add your story to a setting that delivers vicarious experience." A backdrop that helps transport the reader into the scene is what separates an ordinary story from a great one. It's what I'm trying to do and hope I'm accomplishing.

And wow! Friday Round-up #200??? That's amazing!! Congratulations on the milestone.

Susan, I subscribe to Larry's Storyfix and find it to be a wealth of helpful information for crafting stories. I hope more writers will check him out.

Hi Dena -

Yes, I also subscribe. BTW, I find that subscribing to writing resources makes finding material for this Friday Round-Up much easier.

Happy Resurrection Day,
Susan :)

I can see how writing your book with a vicarious experience slant would bring the reader in. That's probably the charm of most historical novels.

Not all of the author's choices of settings and experiences would be for my tastes, though.

Have a wonderful Resurrection Sunday.
