A Little Bit of This, A Little Bit of That

I'm doing a switcheroo today from my usual Friday Round-Up. Sit back and have some chocolate. :)

Speaking of chocolate...

No, it isn't my birthday, but the picture is chocolate!

I discovered something startling at a recent doctor visit. The nurse went through the usual litany of do you smoke, drink, etc. Then, she asked about caffeine consumption.  "Coffee, tea, soft drinks, CHOCOLATE." Chocolate??? How did that get in there?

I hung my head and whispered, "Yes, I eat chocolate every day...but only a little."

I glanced up in time to see her eyes narrow. "Would you say one or two ounces?" I shrugged. Her pen poised over the chart. "I'll put down two ounces."

Have you experienced this line of questioning?

What is with Blogger these days? Or my computer for that matter.

Argh! I visit many blogs, and my comments go "pouf!" Gone. Disappeared into cyberspace. I was doing okay with the Name/URL thingy. Now, it's decided to eliminate my comments.

Please know that I do visit even if your blog won't allow me to add to the conversation.

Is anyone else out there having difficulties commenting?

One of the greatest joys I've experienced over the last couple of months is connecting or re-connecting with friends. Jeanette Levellie, of Audience of One, stayed with me during the Greater Philadelphia Christian Writers Conference where we met up with Elaine W. Miller, Susan Panzica, Kathi Macias, and a bunch of other writer friends.
People I haven't seen in 10-20 years are now emailing me. (I'm liking August, October, and November A LOT!)

Do you notice you're meeting folks from the past more often?

Have a blessed and safe weekend!

No, I've not had the C question yet--if I do, I'll dig my heels in and tell the nurse that I bet she eats chocolate too, so there!

I LOVED staying with you in August, Susie, and you are the best cook of pot roast, the best encourager of fellow writers, and the best couponer I know!

Happy weekend!
Jen

Haven't heard chocolate included in the caffeine question, wow. So now there really IS a chocolate police squad. Rats.

Haven't had any trouble with blogger lately, but I have had my share of frustrations over the years.

Have a wonderful weekend!
Blessings,
Karen

I love Chocolate and I think it is good for you - especially the dark.

Tons of people are having trouble leaving comments.

I did too - but I changed my browser to Firefox and it's fine now. It was easy too.

Oh goodness, I don't think anyone has grilled me about my consumption of chocolate. Yikes! I'd fail for sure. :)

Have a great weekend, Susan!

Susan:
I have a caffeine sensitivity. I was told in the late 1980s to eliminate caffeine from my diet. I had a slight heart arrhythmia. I also had bouts of not sleeping, due to the caffeine. Any cola that is brown, except MOST root beer-Barq's(a Coca-cola product) being the exception- is caffeine free. Real tea, including either the white or green teas, has caffeine. Mountain Dew is loaded with the stuff.
Herbal teas take a bit of getting used to. Hot chocolate can also have the same affect as coffee, colas, or teas.

I was told to stop drinking these beverages earlier in my life but not WHY. I also believe it causes blood pressure to rise.
But even now, Chocolate has a drawing power on me.

My doctor has never asked me the quanity of chocolate that I consume...haha.

Blogger is on and off. Sometimes I cannot post comments on other blogs. Today is a good day!

Have a great weekend.

Wow! My ouch-equivalent would be the caffeine question. I think I'll plead the fifth. Ha ha!

Not having trouble with blogger RIGHT NOW, but I have had. So frustrating!!

Rhonda

Hi Jen -

I love it! I should save all YOUR famous quotes. :)

Thanks on all counts. Have a great weekend.

Hi Karen - What if they start rationing chocolate? We writers will shrivel up and crawl under our desks.

Hi Chatty - Maybe I should try going on Firefox. I already have it installed, but I'm such a creature of habit.

Hi Sarah - I couldn't believe it! They don't ask me if I'm pregnant anymore. LOL! Maybe this takes the place of the "P" question.

Hi Quiet Spirit - I know chocolate has caffeine, and it will sometimes trigger migraines...but I still eat it.

Hi Loree - I haven't had a good commenting day in weeks. If Blogger isn't giving me a problem, the computer shuts down.

Blessings,
Susan :)

Hi Everyone -

Wouldn't you know it! Blogger is cooperating today. I'll visit as many of you as possible while the program is behaving.

Blessings,
Susan :)

I haven't had the chocolate question, but I'm definitely guilty! Almost every day. I've been blessed with Blogger and haven't had too many difficulties. Have a super weekend!

Hi Cindy -

I'm beginning to wonder if that question was designed specifically for me!

Have a great weekend.

Blessings,
Susan :)

Nope, no questions about chocolate lately. I eat it almost every day. Wasn't there a study done linking the feelings of well-being chocolate consumption gives us with similar feelings of well-being we experience when we're in love? I just did a ten second search online and found references to that study, so that's good enough for me! :-D

As for Blogger, I had an issue once with not being able to post to my blog. It was frustrating, but resolved itself by the next day.

Have a lovely weekend!

Must. Have. Chocolate! It's medicinal. Susan, I had trouble with blogger eating my comments too. I think it's a chocolatier's conspiracy to aggravate enough bloggers to send them out to buy, what else? Chocolate.

I don't know if it was coincidental, but once I signed in on every blog, BEFORE I posted a comment, it worked again. Frustrating, I know. I Only had to do that once.

Actually questioning your chocolate habit?!?!??!?!!! She wouldn't want to hear my answer!!!! Hugs and happy weekend! :O)

I haven't been asked about chocolate, but I eat so little of it that I don't care if they write it down.

I ran into one friend from the old days and it was wonderful. Have a great weekend.

Hi Janette - How strange that no one else has encountered this question!

I've heard of the study you mentioned. We writers could have saved them a lot of time and money. We already knew the truth about chocolate. :)

Hi Linda - Jen told me not to click the "stay signed in" box. I've tried doing that and it seems to help.

Your conspiracy theory may have some merit. :)

Hi Diane - LOL! Really. I couldn't believe it when she asked that question.

Hi Nancy - I know two people who don't get all dreamy over chocolate. You're the third. What's your favorite flavor?

Blessings,
Susan

The chocolate question?? No, never heard of it...

Susan J. Reinhardt said...

Hi Marja -

I wonder if they invented that question just for me.

Blessings,
Susan :)
