Friday Round-Up - #30

Happy 2009! Our church celebrated the arrival of 2009 with a potluck dinner and brief service. Afterward, we joined some friends for a time of fellowship. Did you do anything special for New Year's Eve?

The 23rd edition of Sally Stuart's Christian Writers Market Guide comes out on January 15th. This is the ONLY market guide for Christian writers. You'll find the most up-to-date listings for book publishers, periodicals, devotionals, children's markets, writers' conferences, etc. When you purchase the market guide at Sally's site and agree to receive it automatically each year, the price is frozen.

Ann Kroeker examines the topic of stirring our minds thoroughly. She references Oswald Chambers book, "My Utmost For His Highest."

Chocolate Fact: According to Kerry Neville, R.D., a Seattle-area spokeswoman for the American Dietetic Association, "White chocolate is not chocolate. It does not contain any cocoa solids or antioxidants.

Haha! I knew that about white chocolate. No wonder I don't like it. :-)
I hope you're feeling better!

So glad that you found value in that post and pointed readers to it. Your blog is a great idea, making and strengthening connections among all God's kids. I'm honored to be part of the process!

Hi Ann -

Welcome to Christian Writer/Reader Connection! I'm always looking for helpful links.

Hope you'll stop by often.

Hi Jessica -

I don't like white chocolate either. It tastes like someone removed all the good stuff.

While I'm still coughing and tired, I went to work today. Mom's still in bed, but we got favorable reports on her tests. No bronchitis or pneumonia - praise the Lord! She has the same old infection as I have. It just hit her harder.

I enjoy Oswald Chambers; I used My Utmost for His Highest as my devotional Book for 2007. THANK YOU for sharing that link with us.
RE: Chocolate v. White Chocolate, I can't have the real stuff, so I enjoy the white stuff.

Hi Quiet Spirit -

I guess if you're allergic to the real thing, white chocolate is an alternative. Regular chocolate sometimes triggers migraines with me, but I can usually get away with eating it in moderation.

I'm glad you enjoyed the the link. BTW, Ann's site is pretty nifty. I popped over there today, and she has a lot of new posts.

Hi Everyone -

There are disadvantages to writing posts in advance. While we planned to attend the New Year's Service and fellowship, both Mom and I got sick. In my headachy, coughing haze, I didn't catch this before publication.

Sorry guys. Just wanted to set the record straight.

Susan :)
