As I journaled this morning, the thought came to me that this isn't the end, but rather the beginning. Just as the wedding day is not the culmination of a relationship, neither is an election. We're making a choice today that will affect us for generations to come. We're giving our stamp of approval on a course of action for the country. That's a heavy responsibility, folks.
As in all areas of life, God will hold us accountable for our decisions. Yes, He forgives when we repent, but those consequences have a nasty bite.
Please set aside the passions, the rhetoric, and look at the issues. Pray. And then, please vote.
Our Father, which art in Heaven
Hallowed be Thy name
Thy kingdom come
Thy will be done
In earth, as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil
For Thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever.
Amen.
God can speak to our hearts, but we have a choice to obey or disobey. It is our hands that will cast the ballot.

I agree, it's very important to pray before casting our votes. I also agree with your friends who can't wait for today to be over. I've been popping Rolaids like candy.
Amen, this is definitely a time of trusting that God will take care of us no matter what.
His will above ours!
I'm praying...
Hi Praise and Coffee -
I'm praying the Body of Christ will have ears to hear and eyes to see and vote according to God's Word.
Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
Blessings,
Susan :)
Hi Sarah -
I've been so involved in politics that my writing has taken a back seat. Our freedom of speech and religion is at stake here.
Hey, pass the Rolaids. I could use a few. :)
Blessings,
Susan
Ageed!
Hi Annie -
Thanks for commenting. I've been at this computer all day monitoring things.
Keep praying and believing.

Resting in HIS choice.
Hi Tiffany -
Welcome to my blog. I hope you'll stop by often.

Susan:
As I came out of the polling place Tuesday, I felt a lightness. I hadn't had this at all during the months leading up to this election.
I prayed for this event since this past spring. My prayer group has prayed for it also.
Now we have to trust the Lord for His guidance.
Hi Quiet Spirit -
Often there's a battle raging when we're seeking God for an answer. Once a decision is made, the turmoil recedes. It's quite natural to sense a release at that point.
Americans have made their choice. We now have to live with it. Prayer is more important than ever.
Blessings,
Susan :)
