The Better to Hear You, My Dear

I love reading articles on writing, marketing, and good books. Here are a few that caught my attention recently:

1.  Penny C. Sansevieri guest posted at Working Writers and Bloggers. Wow! She had some great tips on using audio to sell your books, as well as referencing other articles.

2.  Now that you've read the first article, here's a How-to Create and Market a Stellar Podcast on The Blogging Bistro. BTW, this site has some awesome how-to articles. Even if you're not a writer, you can add some zip to your blog with their guidance.

3.  Once again, The Blogging Bistro is my choice for a handy-dandy blog/story starter. What's a seaplane doing in the middle of the road? Find out here.

Writers and Readers:  Do you listen to audio books, book trailers, podcasts, etc.? Why do you like/dislike them?

My husband and I listened to an audio book on a recent trip to visit my sister. It was a great way to pass part of the 7+ hour drive. Our kids used to listen to them all the time growing up. Thanks for the links!

Happy weekend,
Karen :)

Hi Susan, I love audio books for when I'm driving, but the one place I use them the MOST is the laundry room when I'm ironing. I love to slip into another wold when doing my household chores, and if a book is really good, I may even take a while longer at the ironing board.

Have a great weekend,
Dotti :)

I have listened to audio books, but prefer the printed word. My mind tends to wander while I have an audio book on, no matter the story.

I do listen to podcasts. I listen to religious messages via podcast from time to time. It's nice that I can rewind and pause when I need to quickly jot down an inspirational message. Funny, my mind never wanders during podcasts, likely because they are much shorter than my audio books!

Enjoy your weekend!

Hi Karen - A long trip or a long commute are ideal for audio books.

Also, my stepson told me that Books for the Blind is now called Books for the Blind and Dyslexic.

Hi Dotti - I can see that would be a great place to enjoy audio books. Unfortunately, I have to go to the laundromat.

Hi Janette Dolores - Print books are also my preference although I do love my Kindle.

I haven't listened to any audio books and wondered if people were big fans of it. Thanks for weighing in on the subject.

Blessings,
Susan :)

I agree with Janette. My mind tends to wander with an audio book. But, I do enjoy listening to the bible audio on Bible Gateway.

Thanks for the links, Susan!
