Friday Round-Up

Blogging is a new adventure for me. How often should I blog? What should I blog about? After mulling it over, I've decided to post 3 times per week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. This isn't set in stone. I'll see how it works out. Meanwhile.....

Gayle Gaymer Martin has an extraordinary blog for writers. If you want a free writing course, her posts are excellent. She's currently talking about dialogue. I've learned a lot from this site and highly recommend it. You can find her at www.writingright-martin.blogspot.com.

Famous quotation from George Washington's Farewell Address:

"Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports."

Saturday is always a mad rush to get all my errands and chores done. Also, on the first and third week of each month, I attend a Writers' Group and a meeting at God's Treasure House. The latter organization is a wonderful ministry, providing transitional housing for women who accept Christ in prison.

Enjoy your weekend.

Hi Susan--

I see that lady's blog is about "writing fiction right"...thanks for the link and it might interest those who are interested in "fiction."

The Truth is all that interests me. Jesus is the truth(JOH 14:6). God bless you this day, Susan. You are doing a fine job. (ss)

Hi Mary -

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you'll come again. :)

Hi Susan -

There are many principles and techniques in fiction writing, which can be applied to non-fiction. Jesus told stories to illustrate many of His points.

Susan Titus Osborne has teaching materials on devotional writing. Mary DeMuth writes non-fiction books. You might find their websites match your interests better. You can Google them for their websites.

Thanks for your encouraging words.

Blessings,
Susan

I think setting a goal of writing three times per week is very do-able and thanks for the link!

I'm hoping I don't run out of ideas. We'll see how things work out.

Susan R. said: “There are many principles and techniques in fiction writing, which can be applied to non-fiction.” That is a very good point.

We can believe together the good Lord will bring to your remembrance the things you should write. His ideas are always wonderful, because he is our hope. Shabbat Shalom. (ss)
