Conference Week!
Yay! I'm super excited because the Greater Philadelphia Christian Writers Conference begins this week. The link will take you to the website, Write His Answer. From there, you can click on the link for the Philly conference. Marlene Bagnull started the conference 28 years ago. It's not too late to sign up. They accept walk-ins.
I'll be on the Internet sporadically this week, but I hope you'll stop by and say, "hello." Have you ever attended a writers conference? What was your favorite part about the experience?

Hi Susan .. enjoy .. cheers Hilary
Have a wonderful time at the conference. I attended my first this year. My favorite workshop was, Reading from the Slush Pile. Agent Kristin Nelson read submissions aloud and told exactly why she would accept or reject it. That was an eye opener.
I hope you have a blast and that you get everything out of the conference you are hoping to.

Hi Hilary -
Thanks! There are several editors and agents I'm hoping to meet. :)
Blessings,
Susan
Hi Linda -
At Philly, they conduct an Agents' Panel. Each agent gives tips and what type of manuscript they represent. The audience has an opportunity to ask questions.
BTW, I still can't comment on your blog. The comment section doesn't give a Name/URL option.
Blessings,
Susan :)
Hi Wendy -
Thank you! Are you going to ACFW this year?
Blessings,
Susan :)
Hi Susan and Linda .. Linda if you unembed your comment box - we'll be able to comment ..
Blogger changed the template code .. and we can't comment ..
If the pop up box is used, I prefer that one, or like Susan's here .. as a full page ..
Cheers - and obviously if there's no email anywhere .. we can't contact you either ..
Hope you check back .. Hilary
Have fun and enjoy every minute of it! Can't wait to hear the praise report when you get home!!! :O)
Cheering you on from KY! Will be thinking of and praying for you.
My conference experiences have been good. The first two were organized by MaryAnn Diorio for the NJSCW. They were excellent. The first one's keynote speaker was Roger Palms; the second, Gayle Roper. I gained so much from them. I've attended two local ones in KY too; both were helpful and informative.
Blessings,
Karen
Susan, I hope this conference is all that you hoped it would be! I've been to several conferences but my favorite is Marlene Bagnull's conference right here is Estes Park. She's an amazing, Godly woman and her conferences reflect her love for Jesus.
Have a great time, Susan!
Susan:
Over the years I have attended three. One, the Midwest Writers Workshop, is a secular event. I went once with the writers group I used to belong to. I went to the Indianapolis Christian Writers Conference in Fishers, Indiana. It's sponsored by the Wesleyan Publishing house. I've been there two times.
Hi Hilary -
Thanks for the tips. I hope Linda sees this.
Blessings,
Susan :)
Hi Diane -
I'm looking forward to seeing friends, both old and new. Sorry you can't make it.
Blessings,
Susan
Hi Karen -
I've been to several 1-Day conferences and, of course, Philly at least seven years. I'd love to go to ACFW someday, but it's usually too far and too pricey.
Blessings,
Susan :)
Hi Dena -
I've known Marlene for about seven years, and her conferences always emphasize the "Christian" in the title.
Blessings,
Susan :)
Hi Sarah -
Thanks! I'll have a conference post later this month.
Blessings,
Susan :)
Hi Quiet Spirit -
Isn't the Wesleyan one where you met Jeanette? I can't wait until she and her husband arrive here on Wednesday!
Blessings,
Susan :)
I hope you have a great time at the conference! I look forward to hearing about it!
Hi Ferree -
Thanks! I've had you on my mind, but haven't had a chance to get to your blog. Have you gone to Montrose yet?
Blessings,
Susan :)
Susan:
Yes, it is. The town is just a ways down the interstate from our town. I didn't get to go last year and haven't thought that far ahead this year.
I'm sure you will have a wonderful time. I went to a conference in Detroit once. My favorite part was meeting other writers.
I haven't, but I certainly want to sometime!
Have fun, you girls! I keep thinking about you all.
I love conferences!!! I'll be going to the Oregon Christian Writers conference next week, which is always a good time, and then ACFW for the first time. Can't wait. Hope I'm ready!!!:)
Have a great time and I pray you make some amazing connections to help in your writing journey:)
Kristen
Hi Rhonda -
Oh, you'd love it! I've gotten many assignments through these conferences and met wonderful friends. :)
Blessings,
Susan
Hi Kristen -
I'd love to attend ACFW, but it's too far away and too expensive for my budget. I'm blessed to have the Philly conference within a reasonable distance.
Have a wonderful time at the Oregon conference. I hope you'll do a conference report on your blog.
Blessings,
Susan :)
