My dear friend, Jeanette Levellie, and I finally met in person. Here she is at our regular "catch you after a workshop" spot at the base of the Learning Center stairs. Isn't this picture stunning? She's a beautiful lady--inside and out. :)
The figures you see in the background are part of a nativity scene.
It must have been near the end of the day. I look tired (but definitely happy).
From Left to Right: Barbara Higby, Jeanette Levellie, and Susan Panzica
Barbara is a new friend. We hit it off right away.
She and Susan came to the conference together.
Susan and I met here two years ago.
From Left to Right: Susan J. Reinhardt, Jeanette Levellie, and Elaine W. Miller.
Elaine is an author and speaker. She taught a workshop at the conference. We met on the
Internet through our friend, Diane Estrella. Hi, Diane! Sorry you couldn't join us.
Here's Jen going over her notes for the next editor meeting. Isn't the setting gorgeous?
To the left of the picture is a small lake with ducks and geese. We
enjoyed getting some refreshment for the soul.
If you ever get an opportunity to attend the Greater Philadelphia Christian Writers Conference, jump at it. We had a fabulous time!
What is your favorite part of a writers' conference? The workshops, the editor/agent/author meetings, or networking with other writers?

Looks like you conference was fun. I always return home so enthused and eager to write.
HI Susan, writing conferences are so good...the best for me is meeting new kindred friendships...other writers who love the craft. Your time sounds wonderful...loved seeing the pictures...
Hi Hilary - We had a great time! I'll always treasure this memory.
Hi Linda - Yes, I came home revved up and ready to write.
Hi Sarah - There's nothing quite like being around other writers. I have a stack of business cards. I'll be writing to these folks soon.
Blessings,
Susan :)
Looks like you had a fun time meeting friends and making new ones.
It's great to see your pictures! I almost feel like I went with you. Almost. :) Someday! Thanks for sharing these. So glad you had a good time.
Blessings,
Karen
Thanks for sharing the pics with us Susan, sweet!
The pictures of you and Jen are so lovely. What a great setting for a conference. It all looks like such a peaceful, scholarly thing to do. I think my favorite part would be meeting other writers and sharing our horror stories and successes.
How fun to meet your online friends in person! I loved the pictures...Thanks for sharing. :)
So neat that you were able to meet your blogging friends! Looks like you had a great conference. Are you going to ACFW?

Thanks for doing this, Susan, and for putting up with us for three days, brewing coffee at 5 a.m., getting red hairs in your shower, listening to me gripe about the missing coffee at the conference...
It was so much fun to meet you in person, and share this experience with you. You are one lovely lady and a dear friend.
My favorite part of the conferences are the people, whether editors, fellow authors, or class presenters--they all have a different story to share, and I love learning from them!
Hi Chatty - It was a blast!
Hi Karen - LOL! We enjoyed some late evening conversations during the conference. Maybe next year you can attend.
Hi Marja - Ah yes, some candid shots.
Hi Nancy - Thank you. Meeting Jen and seeing my friends made this conference so special.
Hi Sarah Forgrave - Congrats on your exciting news! Everyone, I hope you'll go see Sarah. This is BIG!
Hi Melanie - I wish I could go the ACFW, but the finances aren't there. I also started a new job and can't get off work. (I told them before they hired me that I was attending this conference.)
Hi Jen - Awww, you and Kevin were so thoughtful. I hope you'll be able to visit again someday.
Blessings,
Susan :)
Susan,
The conference was so great - reconnecting with you, connecting with Jeanette, getting closer to Barbara, learning sooooo much in the sessions, and having some awesome editor meetings.
So glad you put up the pictures.
Love you lots,
Susan
It looks like you had a great time! Thanks for sharing the pictures.
Oh, yea!! I see faces of two I know! So glad you had such a fabulous time, Susan. Still praying for you and Karen.
Hi Susan - Hopefully, we'll be able to have lunch together one of these days. It was great to see you.
Hi Jean- Meeting fellow writers is so stimulating. After all, we speak the same language. :)
Hi Rhonda - I hope we'll connect in person someday. Even though Jen and I had only met via blogs, email, and telephone, it was like we'd known each other for years.
Blessings,
Susan :)
Susan:
I like hearing the speakers and talking with the other writers. I'm glad you got to meet Jeanette; she's a dear.
Networking is def. my fave, but I love workshops and meetings too. How fun, fun! I love the pics. Thanks for posting them. :-)
Love all the pictures! The setting is gorgeous! I just adore fellowship with other Christian writers!
I haven't managed to get to a Christian conference yet, but have attended the big Surrey Int'l Conference every year or two since 2004. It's hard to pick a favourite aspect because I love it all. Spending a whole weekend immersed in a total writing environment is just the best! I'm always inspired.
Looks like you had a lot of fun!
My favorite part of conferences is the charge I get. I learn so much, I make new friends, I get a little more confident with pitching and talking to editors, and when I get home, I'm ready to get to work. Love those conferences!!
Hi Quiet Spirit - Yes, meeting Jen, her hubby, and the other writers made this one extra special.
Hi Jess - It's hard to narrow down a favorite aspect of conference. Since I'm not the stereotypical introverted writer, the socializing is the fun part. :)
Hi Alisa - The campus and buildings are beautiful.
Hi Carol - I hope you'll be able to get to a conference one of these days. It's a valuable experience.
Hi Kristen - I came home supercharged this time. :)
Blessings,
Susan
