Hi Susan:
I remember being told about "Spoonerisms" as a boy in Grammar school in England. Dr Spooner of Oxford was always opening his mouth and putting his foot in it. For instance, when the aged Queen Victoria visited the University, he was reputed to have said, "...let's have three cheers for our queer old Dean" (instead of Dear Old Queen). Another example is: "It is kistomary to cuss the bride!"
