Labor Day Thoughts and Updates

Labor Day is a chance to refresh and re-group. I'm so thankful to God for my job. Still, it's nice to have some time off.

Update: The first draft of my latest WIP (work in progress) is almost done. I'll soon be working on edits, which is always the more challenging aspect of writing for me.

The fall will be a busy season. On September 22nd and the 22nd of every month thereafter until the end of the year, I'll be guest posting on my publisher's blog.

I'm also scheduled for a 3-day blog stint with Sharon Vannatter October 22, 24, and 25th. I'll be sharing about my real-life romance story.

On October 6th, at 7:30 PM, Karen Lange and I will be on BlogTalk Radio with our publisher, discussing blogging.

On October 27th, Patti Smith and I will be on BlogTalk Radio sharing how we find our writing ideas.

Patti Smith will also be having me on her blog. The date hasn't been set as yet. I'll keep you posted.

I'll post reminders as the time draws near.

For this week, I've decided to take a blogging break to get organized and work on my manuscript. I'll return on Monday, September 8.

Bloggers:  How often do you take blogging breaks and why?

Hi Susan - sounds as though you have a busy time ahead - but it's great you're moving towards your goals and publication ..

I haven't ever really taken a blogging break -but would when I had deadlines etc ..or was ill ... and other times .. I post eclectically anyway ..

Cheers Hilary

Susan, it sounds like you have some busy months ahead! I have two blogs, and I admit that I am a random blogger. I work full time as a freelance writer, so when I get busy with assignments, I put my blogging aside. Same with reading blog posts. I do it as often as I can.

Happy Labor Day!
Jean

Susan; You are going to have a very busy fall.
I have taken a few blogging breaks. When I take one, I find myself palnning something (like cleaning house) only to find myself doing a lot of resting.
Last month, I took 2 1/2 weeks off. Our son was here 10 days. I intended to get thinks looking spiffy around here. But, mostly I rested.

Hi Hilary - Thanks for stopping by. I enjoy blogging and visiting blogs, but it's been a long time since I took a break.

Hi Jean - I had two blogs for a short time, but it wore me out. One blog is all I can manage and still write.

Hi Quiet Spirit - I'm focusing on writing some blogs and scheduling them. My 4-6 week margin disappeared when Mom broke her hip.

Hi Karen - I'm looking forward to our blogtalk show as well. I've even written a few notes. :)

Happy Labor Day Week, Everyone!

Hi Susan -

I'll post reminders as the weeks go by. This calendar has a double purpose - to tell everyone and to jog my memory!

Blessings,
Susan :)

Hi Chatty -

Always nice to see you! This is a working break. I need to finish the rough draft of my fourth book, as well as write blog posts for future weeks.

Blessings,
Susan :)
