Friday Round-Up - #212

I discovered a writing website called, "Writing on The Fine Line," which is the virtual home of Michael Ehret. In this piece he gives 10 Tips to Clean Up Your Writing.

Writers: Which tip made an impression on you?

Readers: Do you see some practical application for areas of your life?

Have a blessed weekend!

I really need to make the time. It is so easy to push writing to the back burner. Hope you have a super weekend!!! :O)

I love the idea of recycling. I had to cut some lines of dialogue that I loved, but I copied them to another file in hopes I can use them in a different story. :)

Have a great weekend, Susan!

Ooh, those are all great tips! I can't pick just one because there are many I'm working on right now. I do, however, need to declutter my work space--and soon! Have a great weekend!

Hi Diane - Time is always an issue, as well as setting priorities.

Hi Sarah - I've done the same thing with my manuscript. It also lessens the pain of editing. :)

Hi Cindy - My desk serves many purposes, so clutter is a constant problem. If you discover some good ways to tackle that problem, it would make a great blog post.

Blessings,
Susan :)

I like the "Keep Track" tip. I often get to the end of my work day and feel like I've accomplished very little. I need to integrate this tip into my personal life, too.

Thanks, Susan!

Hi Quiet Spirit - They're both good places to take action.

Hi Karen - Enjoy your weekend!

Hi Jean - Even at work, I keep a running list of what I've accomplished.

Blessings,
Susan :)

Susan, I am never disappointed when I stop by for a visit. Back from vacation and worn out. Blog hopping. Stop by if you have time.

Hi Linda -

Welcome home! Thanks for stopping by. I'll pop over in a minute.

Blessings,
Susan :)

I liked Michael's "start somewhere" tip. Crafting the first sentence of any piece is always difficult for me. So, I usually just jump right into what I'm writing and then pen the first sentence when I'm all but done with my piece.

I also liked Michael's advice that M&M's aren't just for potty-training. :-) Foraging for a bag of M&M's in the cupboard now...

Hi Janette -

Yes, both those tips weighed heavily in my decision to feature the post. :)

Blessings,
Susan
