Friday Round-Up - #190

Mary DeMuth guest posts on Novel Rocket (formerly Novel Journey) about her experiences with Ebook publishing. She shares excellent tips and links.

Do you read Ebooks on occasion, regularly, or never? What titles have you read? Did you know you can read them even if you don't own a device such as the Kindle or Nook?

Have a blessed weekend!

I've read one ebook so far and it just so happens to have been Mary's "The 11 Secrets of Getting Published." A very worthy read!

I don't own a Kindle or Nook but do own an iPad. I purchased Mary's book by downloading the free Kindle app on my iPad. Easy peasy.

Blessings!

Hi Susan .. I read Judy Croome's Dancing in the Shadows, an African book ..on the laptop .. as I don't have a Kindle or ereader .. I'd love an iPad - one day .. I wouldn't like to read too often on the laptop. But I know people get completely converted to their readers .. cheers Hilary

I've read a few ebooks. I think I still prefer the print version unless it is short. I might think differently if I had a Kindle. Hubby does, so maybe I need to give it a try. :)
Happy weekend,
Karen

I have only read one ebook. I just can't seem to get into looking at a screen to read. And my paper books never have to be plugged in. :)
Thanks friend!

Hi Janette -

I've downloaded a few books on my computer but haven't read them. I'm considering a Kindle for the portability factor and the number of free books available.

Blessings,
Susan :)

Hi Hilary -

I find reading on my computer very uncomfortable. Several friends recently got Ereaders and raved about them.

I doubt if an Ereader will ever replace real books as my favorite method, but they have their place.

Blessings,
Susan :)

Hi Karen -

As writers, we're taught to think in terms of, "what if?" What if someone invents a way to knock out all the computers/electronics in the world? Terri Blackstock wrote a book with this premise.

My print books wouldn't be affected, but an Ereader would be useless.

Blessings,
Susan :)

Hi Jan -

You're speaking my language. I'm considering the least expensive Kindle and looking for the best deal I can find.

Believe it or not, my MP3 player is still sitting on my desk. I never use it. Will the Kindle suffer the same fate? Hmm, I don't know.

Blessings,
Susan :)
