Friday Round-Up - #159

Occasionally, I like to highlight my Blogger friends. Dena Netherton and I met through Facebook less than a year ago. I appreciate her insightful writing. In this post, she simply states, "Because I'm Family."

Another Blogger friend, Kristen Johnson at, Adventures of History Girl, gives us the story of Cheerios. If you're writing a novel set in the 1940's, you'll find some interesting facts and food for the breakfast table.

When you do research, how much time and effort do you spend on food?

Hmm, I'm hungry now. I think I'll have some Honey Nut Cheerios. Oh...before I forget...have a great weekend, and don't skip the most important meal of the day. :)

Hi Susan .. I'll have to pop over to the links .. love learning interesting facts about times gone by - and am very happy to read about food, though I'm happy to live in today's age for food! Honey Nut Cheerios sound delicious .. breakfast and I don't agree - it sends me off to bed again - so rarely eat it - metabolism other way round! Cheers and enjoy your breakfasts .. Hilary

oThanks Susan. I never had cheerio's in my life, but I do love a good breakfast: plain yogurt & fruit & granola!

Dena's post was wonderful. I left her a comment. I would love to have been with her on those visits to her family. Thanks for the new blog person. I'll have to check her out more often.

Hi Hilary -

With my couponing, I've been experimenting with different cereals. What fun! Honey Nut Cheerios are still my favorite.

Blessings,
Susan :)

Hi Marja -

The original Cheerios in the yellow box are basic and natural. Moms love to carry them around because they're perfect finger food for the kids.

Blessings,
Susan :)

You know, I dont think I thought much about researching food. Funny, cause it's on my mind all the time!
Blessings!

Hi Jan -

How about the history of chocolate? I actually have a book on the subject. :)

Susan, if I had to pick one meal to go out for it would be breakfast! It's such a GREAT way to start the day.

A friend of mine once said "eat like a king for breakfast, a prince for lunch and a pauper for supper."

Can you tell I'm a big breakfast person;) I'm glad I finally had a chance to stop by. See you next week.

Hi Melanie -

Ah, another breakfast person! I love that quote. We have all day to burn off the calories from breakfast, so it makes perfect sense.

Blessings,
Susan :)
