We All Have to Eat...

and so do our characters. I noticed the folks in both The Moses Conspiracy and The Scent of Fear have a serious taste for apple pie. They are virtually gourmets on the subject. Whoopie pies and apple strudel come in a close second and third.

While Ellie Zimmerman tries hard to balance the sweets with healthy meals, her husband rebels when salad is mentioned.

John Zimmerman is a meat and potatoes kind of guy, and loves his wife's apple pie.

You have given me something to think about. I shall incorporate food into a fiction piece I am writing, and of course, it will be dessert :)

So far my characters have eaten sparingly. I may have to change that. Thanks for giving us "food for thought"! :)

So far, I have my characters eating pizza, but I've only written one chapter of my novella!

In my non-fiction, we eat everything from chicken chests to noodles to pastrami sandwhiches.

Happy writing!

Funny you should ask, I was just thinking about this. I do include lots of meals in my stories, and yes, my characters usually eat what I like myself.

I write inspirational fantasy. Food and meals are a big part of my stories. I love cooking and eating (as my dress size will attest) so I love coming up with delicious foods and banquets, etc. for my characters! I try not to make it eating for the sake of eating, but let's face it - we all eat! So, our characters should eat, too.

Yes, I think I do put a lot of food in my stories. I've found myself having to change things around so they don't eat the same meals all the time! Since I write historicals, the food is less unique. But in the wedding planner series I'm a part of, I'm having fun coming up with modern meals!
