Friday Round-Up - #196

Nisa, at Wordplay, Swordplay, asks if you really want to create likeable characters. She uses a Charles Swindoll quote as a guideline.

Writers: How do you create likeable characters?

Readers: What traits bond you to a character?

Have a blessed weekend!

Thanks for the link, Susan. I like characters that I can relate to. I don't want them to be too whiny or perfect, just real and willing, overall, to grow.

Hi Karen -

That's a good formula for a great character. :)

Blessings,
Susan

You girls know this topic far better than I do, since I simply write about "live" characters. :) And you would identify with the co-authors in your interview this week!

Hope all is clipping along, creativity flowing, with your manuscript, you two. :)

I like characters that are a bit eccentric. I enjoy the element of surprise and humor that slightly unusual characters bring to a story.

Hi Rhonda - Sometimes it's harder to write about live characters!

Hi Jean - I like characters with spunk and the courage of their convictions. :)

Blessings,
Susan
