The last time I co-wrote a novel was with my twin sister, in 8th grade. That was fun, but it's hard to imagine co-writing now. I'll be interested to hear any tips.
I have been discussing this with another writer. Have a great weekend.
My good friend wants me to help her write a memoir. I haven't signed up yet b/c I have so many other ideas swirling.

I'm working on a collaborative project right now. Two things I'd stress: Make sure you and the other person have a similar vision for the story and like each other.

A well-known agent once said, "If someone asks you to write their memoir, RUN." It's amazing how many people want you to write a book when they find out you're an author.
With that said, I commit all these issues to prayer. If the Lord is giving you the go-ahead, then do it.

The example you cited is more a work-for-hire thing. A famous person asks a writer to help them with a book. It's nice to see the writer's name on the cover as opposed to it being ghostwritten. But that's a whole other story!
A collaborative writing effort might be a neat project for homeschool kids or the elderly. An elderly complex near me put together a book of short stories based on the residents' lives.

I can see how the author of the book I just read has done the scene arc that Shannon describes. It was very effective. If this technique were mastered, it would help the whole story to be more exciting.

A very timely question for me! I am co-writing 2 pocket prayer for www.pubint.com with several other authors. I am excited to see how the process pans out.
I've never co-written anything other than work related. But I have gotten some great help and ideas from my dgt and friends....Hope your weekend is great.
