Over at Camy's Loft, she's posted an unusual recipe for chocolate cake in a mug. I haven't tried it yet, but thought all of you would find it a fun (and delicious) project.
With all the bad news out there, I'm happy to report some positive developments. Abingdon Press is launching a Christian fiction line in late summer. Thanks to my friend, Jill, for providing the link to this Publisher's Weekly article.
Tiff Colter's Balanced Life newsletter appeared in my inbox last week. Her website provides tips on weathering financial difficulties. The articles ranged from a money-saving recipe, a new twist on the magic of compound interest, and announcements on future webinars. Sign up for her newsletter and start receiving her practical, easy-to-understand wisdom.
Have a great weekend!

Good morning Susan! I hope you all are doing well.
Thanks for the links. I'm so excited about Abingdon. It's nice to know that fiction is not shrinking rapidly like other employment opportunities. I just read somewhere that Christian fiction sales are up!
Hope you have a wonderful day. :-)
Thanks for all of the tips, Susan. Hope you have a great weekend too!
Hi Jody -
You're welcome. There are so many great blogs by Christian writers. I like to pass the good word along. :)
Blessings,
Susan
Hi Jess -
This economy may actually be good for writers. People have so many choices when it comes to leisure time activities. With money tight, they may rediscover the joys of reading.
Blessings,
Susan :)
Thank you, Susan, for being a bright beam of light in a dark world!
Blessings on you,
Jen
Hi Jen -
What a nice thing to say, but I can't take any credit. All the glory goes to my Lord.
Blessings,
Susan :)
Thank you for sharing on my post about your husband. I wasn't sure what happened and now I understand what did and what you must have gone through. My SIL lost her husband three years ago--still grieves daily--it was my first glimpse into the hard path some people have to travel. I pray for you it has gotten easier to bare. Isn't it wonderful we have Jesus and friends?
Hi Terri -
The Lord has been good to me. As painful as it was losing my husband, we had some wonderful years together.
Your SIL might want to contact GriefShare. They helped me walk through those dark days. If I can be of any help, feel free to give her my email.
By the grace of God, I'm doing well. There are a lot more joyful days than hard ones.
Next month, marks two years since he died. I'd appreciate prayer during that time. April 2007 was one of the most difficult months of my life.
Thank you for your kindness.
Blessings,
Susan :)
