Friday Round-Up - #38

Woohoo! This week I celebrated my birthday. (I won't say which one.) I'm a firm believer in a birthday week instead of one day. It's more exciting to spread out the fun. Mom took me shopping for some summer clothes over the weekend. Another day, we enjoyed a luscious dinner at the Olive Garden, complete with Black Tie cake (chocolate mousse, chocolate frosting, chocolate everything). I can still taste it. :) Cards, Facebook greetings, and phone calls finished off the week.

Surfing the Internet wave, I discovered an excellent post over at the Edit Cafe. Rebecca Germany noted that authors spend so much time polishing the beginning and middle of their books they sometimes rush through the ending. Check out her tips on how to avoid a meltdown at the end and give the reader a satisfying conclusion.

Dawn Kinzer tells a delightful story at her blog. Wouldn't it be nice if everyone tried to make someone's day a bit more pleasant?

Smile. It keeps people guessing. :)

Glad you could celebrate the whole week! I love that idea! Hmm--wonder if my husband would try it with me this year??

Hi Terri -

I had a blast. The Lord added a few more unexpected blessings. On my actual birthday, someone gave me a like-new leather jacket. It fit me perfectly. Later that evening, a customer called and placed a parts order. Woohoo!

The best thing about this birthday week was the surprise factor. The Lord knew I needed some encouragement.

Blessings,
Susan :)

I'm glad you had a nice birthday too! I was gonna ask you about that leather jacket but I see you already mentioned it. I hope it feels great. I LOVE mine (though I'm pretty sure it's not real, lol)
Isn't it nice to have a good birthday?

Hi Sarah -

Thank you! This weekend is going to be more of a "get stuff done" time. There's plenty of work in the back bedroom (painting) to keep me busy.

Have a great weekend!

Blessings,
Susan :)

Hi Jessica -

It's still too cold here to wear the jacket, but spring's a'comin. :)

Yes, it's wonderful having a nice birthday. I hope yours is extra special. Maybe you can stretch it out into a week also. LOL!

Blessings,
Susan

A lady I know here was born on Christmas Day. She celebrates her birthday the whole month of December. (HOW COOL IS THAT?)
Sometimes ours spill out into the week or longer. Son's is in early January. Hubby's in in Sept. And mine is coming soon.
Thank you for sharing these special blogs with us.

Hi Quiet Spirit -

Wow! A birthday month in December is amazing. Usually, folks born on Christmas Day get a bit lost in the shuffle.

I'm glad you're enjoying the blog posts.

Blessings,
Susan :)

Hi Dawn -

Welcome!

Would you believe my birthday week continued today??? Yup. A friend presented me with a bag of goodies after church.

Now, I don't want to make all of you jealous, BUT it included chocolate. Yummy. I could get used to this.

Blessings,
Susan :)
