    Nice blog! When writing historical novels, the hunting for facts must be the fun part :) It's like building a mental picture before translating it into words.

    I'm blessed to live within a few miles of an amazing Civil War museum. Watch for period re-enactments, too. Our historical society sponsors an annual re-enactment of life in the former Northwest Territory from 1670 to 1830. Focus is on fur-trappers!

    Like you, I enjoy research. My difficulty is knowing when I have enough and what to use.

    As you know from our book, it pays to get the facts right before you dig into the actual writing. It saves a lot of backtracking and editing.

    I love doing research. I've gone to small rodeos, fished the Snake River, and went on a cattle drive all for the sake of research. :)
