    I had such fun a few summers ago hosting a writing course for seven kids in my home. Love encouraging children with writing!

    Hi Susan .. having met Lenny of Lenny's World and heard about the encouragement he has had to write during his illness and he's only just 12; then I had lunch with someone yesterday who's probably in her 70s and suggested she just sit down and write ... knowing she could use the computer, finding out she wanted to write a book or two, and then establishing she could type .. I just said to her .. open up Word and write ...... she said why hadn't I thought of that - so she'll be typing up her thoughts etc ..

    I'll write to my own doctor and my mother's doctor after Christmas to bring the advantages of blogging to their attention ... encouraging them to encourage others ..

    Cheers - and such a good idea - I too wished I'd been able to partake of Wendy's get togethers! Hilary

    Hello Susan. Love your new profile photo. Very, very nice.

    I taught teenage mothers creative writing so I definitely encouraged writing. New notebooks, encouragement and enthusiasm will get them writing every time! How cathartic and how beneficial, too. Susan p.s. Thanks for stopping by!

    Hi Jean - There are so many resources available today that were not available when I was a youngster.

    Hi Susan - Thanks. It was definitely time to change that old photo. There's nothing like a fresh journal/notebook to spark a writer's creative juices, is there?

    As for how I encourage my children creatively, they're too little to write, but I read to them daily and have fostered in them a love of books. Both of my girls love reading and own quite a collection of children's books at this point!

    It's never to early to get kids interested in reading. With such a good role model, I'd be surprised if they didn't catch the reading bug.
