    The last time I co-wrote a novel was with my twin sister, in 8th grade. That was fun, but it's hard to imagine co-writing now. I'll be interested to hear any tips.

    I'm reading Falling in Love with Jesus by Dee Brestin and Kathy Troccoli and all the way through I've been wondering, "What's it like to write with someone else?" No, Susan, never done it myself.

    Hi Rosslyn -

    I'm working on a collaborative project right now. Two things I'd stress: Make sure you and the other person have a similar vision for the story and like each other.

    Hi Wendy -

    A well-known agent once said, "If someone asks you to write their memoir, RUN." It's amazing how many people want you to write a book when they find out you're an author.

    With that said, I commit all these issues to prayer. If the Lord is giving you the go-ahead, then do it.

    Hi Carol -

    The example you cited is more a work-for-hire thing. A famous person asks a writer to help them with a book. It's nice to see the writer's name on the cover as opposed to it being ghostwritten. But that's a whole other story!

    A collaborative writing effort might be a neat project for homeschool kids or the elderly. An elderly complex near me put together a book of short stories based on the residents' lives.

    I can see how the author of the book I just read has done the scene arc that Shannon describes. It was very effective. If this technique were mastered, it would help the whole story to be more exciting.

    Hi Susan: I have never co-written anything with another writer. Don't know if I'd even want to. I'm very comfortable with interviewing, however.

    When I did the virtual lunch with Jen and Rhonda, we worked together on the project. It was great fun, but a lot of people prefer flying solo. :)
