    Hi Susan .. I read Michael's 5 Jan post and concur with his thoughts .. even though I fall into two of his points ..

    Mine are longish .. but I bring in photos and I break the paragraphs up.

    Then it is eclectic - but fortunately readers appear to like the unexpectedness of each post - which seems to tickle their imaginations .. and that's what life's about: interestedness!

    Just a different approach .. as Jennifer advises in her post of 29 Jan - so sensible .. thanks for re-pointing me in this direction.

    Hi, Susan.

    I'm happy that you've linked to Michael Hyatt's blog. I always find his posts and readers' comments enlightening. Here is another that he wrote called "Forget Your Blog Stats and Just Write!" It focuses on the purpose of/reasons for blogging and invites readers to think about why they blog.

    I lose interest in blogs when the content is similar week after week. If a blog has more than one purpose, then the posts will be more varied and interesting.

    As an industry professional, Michael's opinions are respected and often quoted. I've taken many of his suggestions to heart.

    Jennifer's writing voice is unique and interesting. Her posts always grab my attention.

    One of the things I learned as a devotional writer: There must be a take-away for the reader. I try to accomplish that here at Christian Writer/Reader Connection.

    Commas? If you read this, could you explain? You've got me curious. :)

    Yes, I'm a variety kind of gal myself. It's one reason I enjoy doing both author interviews and book recommendations. Throw in a writers devotional and some links and it keeps me interested in producing this blog.

    I was sad to see the variety show disappear from TV. They were more original than the programming available today. I hope blogs continue to produce a nice smorgasbord when it comes to content.
