Let Us Rise Up and Build

While traveling through the blogosphere, I stopped by Boomers, Scribblers, and Saints...and discovered inspiration for 2011. Nancy gave a simple, yet profound, example of her grandson's building adventures.

At the end of the post, the scripture jumped off the page and into my heart. Nehemiah 2:18 "Let us rise up and build. They set their hands to this good work."

All my discouragement and excuses melted in the warmth of her post and that scripture.

Are you ready to "set your hands to this good work?"

  1. Absolutely. Can't think of anything better to focus on.

    Let's get building!

  2. I am ready, with the Lord's help. Some days I'm not sure where to begin, and I flounder a bit before I find my footing. But I believe He helps us if we are doing a little something, at least.

Every building project has its challenges. Like you, I believe the Lord helps us as long as we give it our best effort.

  10. I'll be thinking of this all day. Sometimes I want to be writing when I need to work, or anything else than what I'm doing at the moment, but must know God wants me to put my best effort in all that I do, where He has me.

  11. Susan, I know you've probably answered this before... but on my new laptop I see only the bottom half of your blog... how can I fix it? Sorry :)

  14. Hi Lynn -

Giving 100% to each task - work, family, writing, etc. - gets more accomplished. Doing 20 things at once may seem impressive, but I can see my effectiveness slipping.

    Blessings,
    Susan :)

  15. Hi Marja -

If you have a PC, go to "Tools," and click on "Compatibility View." Unfortunately, this fix is not available for a MAC.

You can also go to the comments, and click on "Show Original Post" located next to the number of comments.

    Hope this helps,
    Susan :)

  18. Susan - I am touched that you would share this with your readers. Of course, the scripture belongs to God and on this day, I needed your turn on things to remind me that this building is of the highest importance. Thanks so much for sharing about my blog.

Yes, that Scripture spoke to my heart. I like your idea of keeping it where you can see it. I probably should do the same thing.
