Friday Round-Up - #135

Right about now, we're all scrambling for time. With Christmas around the corner, how do we get everything done?

Crystal Paine, over at Money Saving Mom, shares her secrets on managing online time and getting more done. (Part 1)

Do you have any tips for streamlining your blogging?

Rather than save this for another post, I'm giving you the link to Crystal Paine's Part 2 on how to get more done in less time as a blogger.

Have a happy, stress-free weekend!

  1. I must admit: I'm not very diligent about streamlining initiatives anywhere. What I try to keep in mind is that "less is more" when it comes to blogging (though in other realms, "less" is just less).

If I keep it simple, I'm inclined to post more often; and to visit others more consistently. When it gets complicated, or too time-consuming, I simply turn off my computer.

    Hugs,
    Kathleen

  2. Hi Kathleen -

This week I've had to "just turn off my computer." I kept up with the basics, but with Mom in the hospital for four days, there was only so much I could do.

    Blessings,
    Susan :)

  3. Susan, thanks for the links. I've not been too efficient lately with time management so these will be help.

  4. I like to keep my emails cleaned out, too. I don't want more than five or so at one time. If I absolutely think I need it for later, I put it in archive.

I try to get blogging done in two hours. It doesn't always get done in that time.

  5. Hi Karen -

Life also hit hard around here. Between that and Christmas, any schedule has gone out the window.

    Blessings,
    Susan :)

  7. Hi Nancy -

I get about 100 emails a day. It's a battle to stay on top of the deluge.

Blogging runs 2-3 hours a day, and I'm still behind.

    Blessings,
    Susan :)

  8. When I started blogging, my plan was to post once a month. Before long, I was posting once a week. What did I learn from that? For me, less is more. I don't want my blogs to control my time, and I like my posts to be inspired. I've learned to pray and wait for God to give me an idea. Then I write. How often I post is up to Him.

You always offer such good questions, Susan.

    Thanks!
    Jean

  9. Hi Jean -

Since I blog here and for my church, it's a big commitment. I started Susie's Sandbox, but found it ate up too much time.

Early on, I decided to blog three times per week with an occasional special post. Having a plan brings sanity to the process.

    Blessings,
    Susan :)

  11. Oh boy, I'm on my way to Crystal's post. I need to either type faster or sleep less!

  12. Hi Susan -

I enjoy visiting your blog, but life has whacked me pretty good lately. Mom was in the hospital for four days this week, plus I had two interviews.

I'll do my best to visit more often. :)

    Blessings,
    Susan
