Friday Round-Up - #94

Kathryn Lang, at Successful Freelance Writer, gives six tips for exposed writing. Are you transparent?

Symbols are all around us. The Bookshelf Muse gives us a look at writing a word, a phrase, or object with a deeper meaning.

Have a blessed weekend!

  6. Can you be too transparent? That's what I wonder as I write edgier fiction. You know, TMI type thing...

    Good thoughts on these blogs!

  15. On being transparent - I can see how knowing friends were viewing your blog could shut down your boldness a bit. Not too many people know me in person so I can be pretty "invisible."

It seems that a Symbolism Thesaurus would be a good thing to have. I love those deeper meanings.

  16. I always enjoy Kathryn Lang's blog posts. I think I'm pretty transparent in my writing, especially on my Compost Pile blog. Sometimes, I write a first draft straight from the heart without worrying about being too transparent. Then, I go back and soften things a bit.

    Blessings to you, Susan!

  17. Hi Nancy -

Good thoughts. Several people I know personally read my blog, but I'm a "what you see is what you get" kind of gal. This is the real me.

    Blessings,
    Susan :)

  18. Hi Jean -

My first drafts are done in Blogger. I preview all my posts to check for errors, and make sure my meaning is clear.

I think you do a great job with Compost Pile. Whenever there's a new entry, I'm right there. :)

    Blessings,
    Susan

Transparency. Such a shallow term for something so deep. I always enjoy your links! (and you too!)
